Holy Cross AFC First Communion

First Communion (Eucharist) Preparation:

The Parish of St. Mary’s prepares for First Communion under the direction of Ms. Brenda Lenertz. Her office is at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 417 S. Minnesota St., New Ulm, MN 56073. Contact her at (507) 233-9506 or at blenertz@newulmtel.net.

The Parishes of Cathedral, St. John's, St. Gregory and St. George prepare together for First Communion under the direction of Mrs. Julie Soehren. Her office is at Cathedral Parish at 605 North State St., New Ulm, MN 56073.
Contact her at (507) 354-4158 or at julie.soehren@holycrossafc.org.

First Communion Preparation: Students in the 2nd grade or older are invited to prepare for First Communion starting with a Parent Meeting in January. A student must be both registered and participating (i.e. regular attendance) in religion classes for one full year prior to receiving the sacrament (either NUACS or faith formation/religious education).  First Reconciliation must be received prior to First Eucharist.

Each Parish in our Holy Cross AFC celebrates First Communion in the weeks following Easter.
